Open Challenge

The British Heart Foundation Data Science Centre is hosting an open challenge which invites competitors to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence to improve the use of electrocardiogram (ECG) for cardiovascular disease patient care. The challenge begins on Monday 23rd September 2024 and closes on Monday 2nd December 2024.

In collaboration with experts from the University of Edinburgh the challenge will use a synthetic imaging dataset made up of ~20,000 simulated electrocardiogram (ECG) images. Competitors will be invited to develop algorithms which can make clinical diagnoses, based on the information held within the ECG images.

The winning group will have the opportunity to present their results as part of a BHF Data Science Centre webinar and to work with the BHF Data Science Centre team to publish the results of the open challenge.
