Overview:
In the first half of this webinar, we welcomed Dr Honghan Wu, Associate Professor at Institute of Health Informatics, UCL. He is a fellow of The Alan Turing Institute. Honghan was joined by Jinge Wu, a PhD student in health informatics at Institute of Health Informatics, UCL. Their talk was entitled ‘Using machine learning and rare disease phenotype models to identify people at risk of COVID-19 related adverse outcome.’ In the second half, we heard from Professor Nazrul Islam, Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics at University of Southampton talking about a project he co-leads with Dr Hjira Dambha-Miller, entitled ‘Using data science to better characterise multiple long term health conditions.
