Poh-Choo is a business strategist and life science innovator, with specialisation in real-world data, drug discovery, and translational sciences. Poh brings a unique perspective to the BHF Data Science Centre Public Advisory Group. Her expertise lies in business development within the health data sector, honed through her recent work on a UK patient rare disease registry. This experience, coupled with her scientific background in analytical biochemistry, allows her to bridge the gap between research and practical applications.
Beyond her professional achievements, Poh-Choo is deeply motivated by personal experiences. Her own battle with a congenital heart condition and the loss of her father to a heart attack have instilled in her a profound understanding of the impact cardiovascular diseases can have on individuals and families. This connection, along with her passion for diversity and inclusion, strengthens her commitment to ensuring the BHF Data Science Centre’s work represents the needs of all communities, including the East Asian minority she proudly represents
